'Atlantic Star' Big Wheel
 

'Atlantic Star' Big Wheel Built in 1947 by Eli Bridge of Jacksonville, Illinois, USA.

In 1893 a W E Sullivan owned a bridge building company - Eli Bridge. During this year he visited the Columbian Exposition and took a ride on Mr Ferris' Wheel and was so taken by it that he decided to build his own wheel. On 23rd March 1900 the first 'Big Eli' opened in Jacksonville, Illinois. Now Eli Bridge Wheels can be found all over the world.

Edward Howard purchased his wheel in August 2007 and over the winter of 2007-2008 it underwent an extensive refurbishment to create the 'Atlantic Star', a fine example of an Eli Bridge Ferris Wheel.
